What is Featherlift?

Featherlift is a non-surgical procedure that works just like a facelift but instead of cutting you open, just uses threads. Featherlift was developed back in 1999 in Moscow by Dr. Marlen Sulamanidze. Dr. Dulamanidze made use of prolene, the non-absorbable sutures, and later on the newly developed Aptos thread.
Because it’s non-surgical, the patient is awake during the procedure, but under local anesthesia to minimize or eliminate discomfort. The Aptos threads are inserted to the skin by a small needle, and the area where it’s inserted depends on what needs to be lifted. What’s great about Featherlift is that it leaves no scares, and only takes about 30 minutes to an hour to complete the procedure. After treatment, only ice is needed to treat the lifted area. Common side effects of Featherlift include swelling and bruising which will disappear in a matter of days.
More serious complications are rare, but when they do arise, they include protruding of the thread from the skin or a small crease where the thread was inserted. Either way, these can easily be corrected by massaging the skin or trimming the thread.
